My name is Sakina Abideen, and I am the artist behind this page. Art has always been central to who I am. No matter the season of life, it has remained the language through which I process, reflect, and create meaning of my thoughts and feelings.

My practice spans a diverse range of mediums, including acrylics, watercolor, printmaking, children’s book illustration, graphic design, and mural work. Each piece I create changes me in some way. It helps me learn and refine my skills, challenges me to persevere through doubt and slows me down to reflect on the detail and beauty of Allah’s creation. After I finish an art piece, I often feel like I have unlocked a deeper meaning of my subject matter. My artwork helps me in my own self-growth.

I am inspired by everything around me: my feelings, the creation of Allah (SWT), the Ahlulbayt (AS) and their words, the Holy Quran, the state of the world, everything big and small. Every artwork I create begins with the act of slowing down, reflecting deeply, and truly understanding and honoring what I am about to create before beginning the work. For me, art is a means of connection. It is a way to draw closer to my Lord, to reflect inward, and to serve Him.

Throughout human history, art has carried the power to soften hearts, provoke thoughts, and inspire transformation. I strive to create work that continues in that tradition.

My hope is that through my work, something within you is stirred, that it invites reflection, connection, and perhaps even a quiet revolution within your heart.
