Painted from a personal photo taken in Bainul Haramian during a ziyarat on the 15th of Sha’ban, this piece captures not just a place, but a moment of longing and peace. The warm, dreamlike colors reflect the emotional aftermath of ziyarat, a heart full of love, memories, and the ache of returning. A landscape not just seen, but deeply felt.

I painted this piece during my high school art class, spending nearly 65 hours bringing it to life. The prompt was “expressionism”. I had to paint something that expressed a personal emotional experience of mine. I chose this image because of my attachment to Imam Hussain (as). Although I faintly remember the last time I touched this dhari, my heart yearned to be in its presence again. This painting was made in anticipation for experiencing this exact moment. Every stroke I made, I was closer upon my trip to my Imam(as). Upon going for ziyarat- I realized that Karbala is a land where all my worries vanish, a land where I only see myself and my master, a land where I can cry my heart out, a land where I am reminded of my true purpose in this dunya, a land that I am utterly incomplete without. Dedicated to Sayyida Zainab (س), the noble granddaughter of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), this piece was my first project in printmaking, created in 2020 using the relief printmaking technique. Inspired by her strength after witnessing the tragedies of Karbala, the work centers on her profound words spoken in the court of Yazid when asked what she saw:"ما رأيتُ إلا جميلاً"“I saw nothing but beauty.” Through this limited edition artwork, I aimed to capture not only her unwavering faith but the dignity with which she carried the burden of grief, turning tragedy into testimony. The original LE relief printmaking prints are sold out; these are duplicate prints of the original art. السلام على زينب الكبرى، بنت أمير المؤمنين، وأخت الحسين، وشريكة كربلاء

"يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِـِٔوا۟ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ"“They intend to extinguish the Light of Allah with their words. But Allah will perfect His Light, even though the disbelievers dislike it.”

"اَلسَّلامُ عَلَى الرُّؤُوسِ الْمُشَالَاتِ"Peace be upon the heads raised upon lances — Ziyarat al-Nahiyya al-Muqaddasa This piece is a tribute to the unshakable truth of Karbala—a moment where even severed heads bore witness. It draws from the narration that Imam al-Husayn’s (ع) blessed head, while raised upon a lance, recited Surah al-Kahf. Upon reaching the verse:"أَمْ حَسِبْتَ أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْكَهْفِ وَالرَّقِيمِ كَانُوا مِنْ آيَاتِنَا عَجَبًا"“Do you think the People of the Cave and the inscription were among Our wondrous signs?” [18:9] the head answered: “More wondrous than the People of the Cave is my martyrdom and what followed.”

Poppies of Palestine, like the shuhada, they do not die. Rather, they are alive-nourished by our Lord, blooming in our hearts, and in the seeds of resiliance they have sown. The martyr’s rule begins the moment his blood is spilled.“And do not say of those who are slain in Allah’s way: ‘They are dead.’ Nay (they are) alive, but you perceive (it) not.” [2:154]

"وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ"“And We did not send you, [O Muhammad], but as a mercy to the worlds.” — Surah Al-Anbiya [21:107] This piece was originally painted in watercolor as a tribute to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), whose presence was and remains a mercy for all creation. It is a quiet visual dhikr, a reminder of divine mercy manifest through the most beloved of all creation.

This artwork portrays the quiet defiance of a woman who stands before the machinery of oppression, unarmed, yet unshaken. Her strength is not her own but drawn from absolute tawakkul. "وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ"“And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him.” — Surah At-Talaq [65:3] Her figure, lit by divine rays, echoes the path of Lady Zainab (س), who stood tall in Yazid’s court undaunted, and unwavering. This piece is a tribute to all those who walk her path: women of faith who fear none but Him and find their strength in submission to Allah alone.

A painting inspired by the eloquent and thought provoking words of Imam Ali (as) in Dua e Kumayl. The imagery in this dua has always intrigued me as an artist. There’s so much more to unpack, but I created this painting as I reflected on how the human body is described in this dua. The more I think about this body, the more astonished I become. Yet simultaneously, this body is so week. How easy is it to hurt oneself, get sick, break a bone, cut your skin. How often do we become arrogant and feel independent, forgetting that our lowly state requires continuous sustenance from its Rab, Lord, Nourisher. “𝑴𝒚 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅, 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒚 𝒖𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒌𝒊𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔. Here, “Ya Rab”, is interlaced into the bones and ribs to show who our true support system is, who gave rise to this body, and who we must serve through it. یَا رَبِّ یَا رَبِّ یَا رَبِّ Original Medium: Acrylic Painting
